About CINCO

Our Plant Care System is an automated solution which simplifies how plant maintenance is done for individuals and businesses. This is done by using smart sensors and automated climate control, which makes sure that the plants receives proper care without requiring constant human intervention. The system will continuously monitor the key environmental factors such as soil moisture, light exposure, and temperature, adjusting the conditions needed to maintain the plants health.

It is designed for ease of use, as the system provides an easy experience for users, allowing them to maintain their plants with ease. It also offers a reliable alternative to traditional plant care methods, eliminating common issues such as overwatering, underwatering, and inconsistent light exposure. Unlike conventional solutions, the Plant Care System is adaptable to a variety of plant species, making it an efficient option for different environments. To enhance the system, in the future we will focus on integrating additional smart features to improve its efficiency.

Challenges

We are facing challenges with the dimensions of the product that we are making, and if can properly fit the circuits that will be used. We are also facing challenges if the circuits will work as intended.

Use Case

The use case is the user, who is either an individual or a business where they will be able to interact with the Plant Care System so that their plants will be stay healthy through its automated monitoring and temperature control. Once our plant care system is fully working, it will continuously gather data from the smart sensors that we have added which includes tracking the soil moisture, temperature, humidity and light exposure. Using this data, the plant care system will automatically adjust the environmental conditions such as watering, lighting, or temperature to suit the specific needs of each plant that the consumer will have. If manual intervention is needed, such as refilling a water tank, the consumers will be able to see this since the system will be able to notify the user through the app created by us via Figma. Having this will allow users to maintain their plants effortlessly while eliminating common issues like overwatering, underwatering, and inconsistent light exposure. The system is also able to adapt to various plant types and environments, offering a reliable, efficient alternative to traditional plant care methods.

Solution

We will meet up in a room at BCU to build a prototype of our product and then measure out the dimensions so that we can 3D print it as soon as possible. At the same time, we will test out the circuits.

The market includes both direct and indirect competitors. This includes smart plant monitors and automated watering systems, which goes over certain aspects of plant care. However, this often needs to be done manually or comes with high costs. Traditional plant care services are also effective but are not always accessible or affordable for all consumers. The Plant Care System is different from other competitors as it provides an all-in-one, automated solution that balances affordability with functionality, which makes it an attractive choice for a wide range of customers.

To have a strong presence in the market, the system will be introduced through key industry events such as innovation festivals, tech expos, and gardening fairs. These platforms will provide an opportunity for potential customers to experience the product. By setting up with consumer trends and leveraging smart technology, the Plant Care System is set to become a leading solution in the automated plant care industry.

RESULTS

FINAL PRODUCT

The final product of our plant care system will have 4 sensors in total, including soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and light sensor. Each of the 4 sensors will have an LED connected to it that will light up to show when the sensor is actively detecting and responding to changes in the environment.

Whilst the plant care system is on, the sensors will collect real-time data from the plant’s surroundings. This means that if any environmental condition falls outside the optimal range, for example if the soil becomes too dry or the temperature is too high, the corresponding sensor detects this and will change it to the necessary adjustment. This could involve activating the water pump to spray water if the plant gets too dry or adjusting the lighting.

To keep the user informed, the system is connected to a mobile app interface that was designed in Figma. Through this app, users can view the plants current conditions, receive notifications if any manual action is needed such as refilling a water tank, and monitors the overall health of the plant. This process allows the users whether they are individuals or businesses to care for their plants with minimal effort.

By automating routine tasks and providing real-time feedback, the Plant Care System helps prevents common issues like overwatering, underwatering, and inconsistent light exposure.
