Mirror-Mirror is a next-generation smart mirror designed to seamlessly integrate into daily life, boosting productivity, organization, and motivation. It provides real-time weather updates, to-do lists, project progress tracking, and personalized motivational messages to help users start their day with focus and clarity. With smart home compatibility and real-time calendar integration, Mirror-Mirror ensures users stay on top of their tasks effortlessly.

Many people struggle with time management, disorganization, and lack of motivation in their daily routines. Mirror-Mirror solves this by offering a centralized, interactive dashboard that presents key information at a glance, eliminating the need to check multiple apps or devices.

Additionally, we are committed to sustainability by using recyclable materials and energy-efficient technology. Mirror-Mirror not only enhances productivity but also supports eco-conscious living through its innovative and responsible design.

Responsible consumption and production : A smart mirror allows for Reduced consumption as all features are in one place. The mirror won’t have people looking on their phones trying to figure out the weather. Won’t have them have newspapers laying around, looking for the latest updates. People wont ever miss an update in their schedule as the mirror will make sure to remind them. Making the environment much cleaner and a lot more organized.
Industry, innovation and infrastructure:Advancements in infrastructure has allowed mirrors to also develop, before mirrors would just be a reflective glass and nailed to the wall. Those mirrors still do exist but now there is the option to have a more complexed design. If you are to look at the progression of mirrors you can see that mirrors came from a very simple structure and now have wires and have electricity running through them making them a lot more advanced

•Feature: The smart mirror will display real-time weather updates, to-do lists, calendar events, and motivational messages.
•Why? This is the core function of the Mirror-Mirror, ensuring users have quick access to essential daily information.
2.Infrared (IR) Touch or Gesture Control
•Feature: Users can interact with the mirror using touch or hand gestures via an IR frame.
•Why? A hands-free option improves hygiene and enhances the user experience, especially in a bathroom or kitchen setting.
3.Smart Home Integration (Basic Functionalities)
•Feature: Basic voice control compatibility with Alexa/Siri/Google Assistant for controlling lights, thermostats, or playing music.
•Why? Smart home compatibility is a key feature that enhances convenience and future scalability.
4.Energy Efficiency & Sustainable Materials
•Feature: The prototype will use a low-power display, and the frame will be made from recycled or eco-friendly materials where possible.
•Why? Sustainability is one of our project goals, aligning with Responsible Consumption & Production (SDG 12).

Why These Features Were Prioritized?
1.Essential for Functionality – Without real-time display and interactivity, the prototype would not effectively demonstrate its usefulness.
2.Feasibility for Testing – These features allow testing of the mirror’s responsiveness, user interaction, and practical benefits before adding advanced capabilities.
3.User-Centric Design – By focusing on personalization, convenience, and hands-free controls, we ensure the product meets real-world needs.
4.Scalability for the Final Product – The prototype provides a foundation for future enhancements, such as AI-based personal assistance and deeper smart home automation.

Impact on the market

Mirror-Mirror will be entering a market in which key players such as Capstone
Connected Home, HiMirror, and Simplehuman already have smart mirror products
on the market. Mirror-Mirror stands out with its original vision board capability,
helping clients track personal and professional goals, its green theme in utilizing
recyclable materials and promoting environmentally friendly use, and its affordability,
enabling it to appeal to more people. It also stands out due to its ease of use which
allows for simpler setup and navigation than with other products out there.
Customers have complained that existing smart mirrors are overpriced, offer little
customization and are even hard to install. Mirror-Mirror addresses all those
problems with a low-priced, very customizable, and easy-to-install product.

RESULTS

FINAL PRODUCT

We decided on the idea of a smart mirror after thinking deeply about one of the most common struggles faced by everyone, students and workers alike. Organization. We then thought of ways to aid organization in a fun yet practical way. So we decided on the smart mirror. Nearly everyone starts their day in front of their mirror, either brushing their teeth or checking their outfit. Imagine starting your day feeling in control, seeing exactly the work you have ahead of you as well as inspiring messages to get you the energy you need to conquer your day. Then we decided to look up cost effective and high quality materials to make mirror mirror an affordable product. Which we proceeded to procure and then focused the rest of our energy on researching and tweaking the most essential features needed on the mirror. after that we focused on building the mirror in a way that was not only smart but also aesthetic and appealing to the user.
