About PATHFINDERS

There had been a multiple cases concerning people who are visually impaired who struggle to see, or navigate freely ,we therefore introduce our product which is the X-3 smart walking stick to help visually impaired navigate freely. our product has comes with features like obstacle detection, GPS locator, real time feedback.

UN SUSTAINABILITY DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Empowered and Driven:
Delivering Solutions for Global Issues

1)Good health and well being-Smart blind stick enhances mobility, safety and independence which improves the well being of visually impaired individuals

2)industry, innovation and infrastructure- developing a smart blind stick involves technological innovations such as AI sensors and Iot development

3)Reducing inequalities- This device helps reach the visually impaired individuals , promoting equal opportunities

4)Sustainable cities and communities-smart assistive technologies support creation of accessible online developments making it a healthy ad more equal space to live in

THE STORY BEGAN

DESIGN STORY

Challenges

1. Communication issues:- which are misunderstandings due to unclear explanation.
2.Unequal task:- which is some members more tasks while other team members doing less.
3.Technical challenge:-connecting different components of the project easily.
4.Time management:- difficult while we deciding for a meeting because of our availability is different.

Solution

assign tasks based on our strengths which makes responsible for that particular task which helps us for the clear explanation.

Use Case

our project are mainly help for people who have visual problems by giving them a direction with the help of GPS and giving them a feedback through a vibration motor and buzzer.

THE PROCESS

PROTOTYPE DESIGN

Our idea, a Blind Smart Stick, is intended to help people with vision impairments navigate their environment more securely and autonomously. An ultrasonic sensor included into the stick helps the user avoid possible dangers by detecting obstructions within a specific range and warning them with vibrations or audio signals. By improving visibility and providing light detection capabilities, an LED sensor helps people become more aware of their surroundings. The Arduino microcontroller, which powers the device, interprets sensor data and regulates the output appropriately. The stick is eco-friendly and appropriate for daily use because it has a solar panel that recharges the gadget, ensuring sustainability and reducing the need for regular battery replacement. This smart stick is a cutting-edge mobility aid designed to enhance the lives of the blind and visually impaired. It is small, light, and reasonably priced.

PLEDGE

Impact on the market

Our product is a combination of efficiency and budget purpose, The purpose of our smart walking stick is is to fulfil the growing demand for assistive technology ,governments are looking to invest in smart walking sticks so the market is quite lucrative.

RESULTS

FINAL PRODUCT

We researched on google that over two million people have visual problem in the United Kingdom. Everyday 250 people lose their eye sight that is one person every six minute. Our project are mainly help for people who have visual problems by giving them a direction with the help of GPS and giving them a feedback through a vibration motor and buzzer. So we are using a software like visual code and the hardware like Arduino uno, ultrasonic sensor, water sensor, vibration motor, buzzer, solar panel, GPS (Neo-6m), Bluetooth (HC-O5), breadboard, jumper wires, resistor, LED, capacitors, enclosure to make this product.
During this period we make videos, posters for our product to describe what is our products benefit, how we are going to make it also we receive some feedback from our tutor to make our product better.
